Summerleaze at a glance
The easiest Bude surf beach to combine with a town day.
Summerleaze sits beside Bude town centre and the entrance to the canal, making food, toilets, parking and non-surf activities unusually close. Its sandy beach and established instruction make it useful for first lessons when conditions are suitable.
The river entrance, changing banks and open Atlantic swell mean it still deserves a live assessment. Use the RNLI flags, keep clear of harbour and river activity, and book instruction if you are new to the beach.

Bude Sea Pool is a different water environment. Check its own information and never treat the pool as evidence that the beach is safe.
