Research-based take: one of Scotland's most scenic west-coast surf areas, but more fickle than its Atlantic-facing location makes it appear. When a proper west groundswell arrives it can be excellent; when it misses the narrow window it can be frustrating. The big strength is having Machrihanish and Westport close together.

The beach is vast, so even when popular there is room to spread out. Defined peaks/point sections can be busier.
