Crantock at a glance

A big beach with one important complication: the Gannel.

Crantock is a long sandy beach separated from Newquay by the Gannel estuary. It has seasonal lifeguards, National Trust access and lessons with Big Green Adventures.

The estuary changes with the tide and needs particular care. Use the signed access, follow RNLI and National Trust guidance, and never assume a route across the Gannel is safe because other people are using it.
