Perranporth Surf School uses a summer beach base, moves for spring tides and operates from Piran Surf in winter. Stoked meets at its Beach Road base near the promenade car park.

A long surf beach reached directly from a useful seaside town.
Perranporth's main access opens onto a broad sandy beach that joins Perran Sands at low tide. Stoked Surf School and Perranporth Surf School both teach here, while cafés, public facilities and shops are close enough to make the town a practical base for a full day.
The scale creates options, not automatic safety. Peaks move with the banks, the Atlantic exposure can produce demanding surf and the main entrance still becomes busy. Stay in the appropriate flagged area rather than walking away from supervision for more space.

Use the promenade for convenience
The promenade car park gives the most direct access to the south end. Wheal Leisure is a useful town alternative when the seafront area is full.
Allow three hours
A two-hour lesson still needs time for check-in, changing and getting equipment to the water. Perranporth Surf School recommends allowing about three hours in total.
Keep the flags in the plan
The beach feels enormous at low tide, but the supervised zones remain the right reference for swimming and beginner surfing.

Parking and buses
The promenade pay-and-display car park is closest to the main beach entrance; Wheal Leisure provides another town option. The U1 bus serves Perranporth, which can avoid the search for a summer space.
Toilets, showers and storage
Public toilets and paid hot showers sit on the promenade. Both schools describe secure or supervised storage arrangements, but bring as few valuables as possible.
Food and wet-weather options
Cafés, pubs and beach-side food are close to the south end. The town remains useful if a lesson is moved or cancelled because the sea is unsuitable.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed year-round according to Visit Cornwall, with short-lead controls on the main beach in July and August. Read the entrance signs for the exact local zone.
